Grovestudies ✅ CPU  The central processing unit is the part of computer system that carries about the instructions of a computer program to perform basic mathematical logical and input output operation of the system. The CPU is also known as the brain of the computer the speed of CPU depends on the type of microprocessor and it is measured in megahertz (MHz). The two typical component of CPU are the arithmetic unit and the control unit  Arithmetic logic unit  In computer and arithmetic logic unit alu is a digital circuit that perform arithmetic and logical operation the value is fundamental building block of the central processing unit of computer. Control unit  The controll unit coordinate the input and output device of the computer system it fetches the instruction which are given in the form of micro programs it directs the operation of the other unit by providing timing and control signals  In general a control unit is the central part of the machinery that control its operation a

03 COC Classification of Computer by Grovestudies ✅

Image
Grovestudies ✅ Based on Size :-  Micro Computer :-  These are the least powerful at the most widely used and fastest growing type of computer and also called portable computers. Some types of microcomputer are :-  Desktop computer or personal computer PC  notebook  tablet computer  handheld computer or palm tops Mini computer  These computer are the smallest in size and faster than mainframe computer initially the mini computer wall design to carry out some specific task like engineering and computer design calculation they are used as Central computer which is called Server. Main frame Computer These are the computers having large internal storage and comprehensive range of software these computers are bigger in size comparatively to mini computer but smaller than supercomputers.  Mainframe computers are IBM 370 IBM - 390 univac 1110 Super computers  These are the fastest and the most expensive machines. The speed of supercomputers are measured in FLOPS (floating point operations pe

Introduction to Computer by Grovestudies  Content  Introduction to Computer  History  Characteristics of Computer  Basic application of computer  Other Components of Computer Introduction :- A computer is an electronic device that manipulates information or data according to the set of instruction called programs. It has the ability to store , retrieve , and process data. A comuter is used to type documents , send E mails , and browse the enternet.  The term computer is derived from the Latin word “computare” means “to calculate”. What is Computer ? A computer is an electronic machine that accepts data from the user, processes the data by performing calculations and operation and generate the desired output as a result.  Charles Babbage is the father of Computer Generally, computer is the combination of hardware and Software, which  converts data into information.  some terms used in computer terminology are described :-  Data :- Unprocessed raw facts and figures, like number, text on

Cache Memory by Grovestudies

Image
GroveStudies Production: Cache memory Cache memory, also called cache, supplementary memory system that temporarily stores frequently used instructions and data for quicker processing by the central processing unit (CPU) of a computer. Levels of memory: Level 1 or Register – It is a type of memory in which data is stored and accepted that are immediately stored in CPU. Most commonly used register is accumulator, Program counter, address register etc. Level 2 or Cache memory – It is the fastest memory which has faster access time where data is temporarily stored for faster access. Level 3 or Main Memory – It is memory on which computer works currently. It is small in size and once power is off data no longer stays in this memory. Level 4 or Secondary Memory – It is external memory which is not as fast as main memory but data stays permanently in this memory. The performance of cache memory is frequently measured in terms of a quantity called Hit ratio. Hit ratio = hit / (hit + miss) =

GroveStudies Production: Computer Memory The computer memory holds the data and instructions needed to process raw data and produce output. The computer memory is divided into large number of small parts known as cells. Each cell has a unique address which varies from 0 to memory size minus one. Computer memory is of two types: Volatile (RAM) and Non-volatile (ROM). The secondary memory (hard disk) is referred as storage not memory. But, if we categorize memory on behalf of space or location, it is of four types: Register memory Cache memory Primary memory Secondary memory Register Memory Register memory is the smallest and fastest memory in a computer.A register temporarily holds frequently used data, instructions, and memory address that are to be used by CPU. They hold instructions that are currently processed by the CPU. All data is required to pass through registers before it can be processed. So, they are used by CPU to process the data entered by the users. Registers hold a sma
